2023 Word of Intention

Every year for the past several years, I have moved away from New Year's resolutions and instead set Word of Intention for the year to help guide and recenter me. A Word of Intention is the word you want to set as your reminder for the year of how you tackle it.

For example, let's say you set goals to get in better shape but you always fall off in March. A good Word of Intention replacement would be consistency or dedication. That way, you're focusing more on the habit than the weight goal.

Last year, my Word of Intention was Growth. I wanted to focus on growing specific areas of my life: the reach of my blog, the size of my Instagram, and my strength against my anxieties. In turn, I saw my growth in abilities as a crafter, and the growth of my family as a team and as individuals. While that growth didn't happen as I had originally pictured it would, I'm amazed at the growth I have experienced and accomplished.

I'm setting my 2023 Word of Intention as Resilience. Resilience is defined by one's ability to bounce back or recover from a situation or difficult condition. I know that 2023 will have its challenges for me already. My biggest hope is that my WoI will help carry me through them as I navigate motherhood with 2 kids, marriage, and my side hustles while maintaining my mental health.

A habit I'm introducing into my life in 2023 is using a planner. With ADHD and trying to juggle so many different life aspects, I know that keeping up with a planner to remind me of things that need to accomplished and important events that need to be remembered will be crucial. My plan is to leave myself quotes about resilience every few weeks in my boom to serve as a peacekeeping reminder to myself. I'll be sharing my Plan with Me sessions on my Instagram and TikTok if you'd like to follow that journey!

Let me know in the comments down below what your Word of Intention is for the new year!
