New Kitchen Haul

The best part about making over a space is upgrading things that aren't working anymore. We made sure to leave space in our budget to cover any organizational items or cookware that needed to be purchased. I'm really excited to share with you our kitchen haul!

One of the things that I love the most was this custom serving board that my sister-in-law engraved and gifted to us! It features a beautiful Three Broomsticks design. She primarily does Disney designs, so be sure to check her out on Instagram (@megansmousepops) and Etsy! The vase was an upcycle project I did a few weeks ago. You can check out the tutorial here to create one for your space! I purchase all of my candles from my local Marshalls. I love the DW line the most.

These Felli food storage containers I've been something that I have been piecing together over the last several years for my personal collection. I've purchased everything from their line at my local Marshalls, which has been no easy feat because these are a local favorite. They're nice and clear, and they layer into the cabinets really well. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to the OXO brand, I highly recommend these. I still love using my gray lid Dollar Tree containers for things that I have smaller portions of, like dried pasta.

I always knew that refillable spice jars and oil bottles would be a game changer for me, I just didn't realize they would have been this life-changing! I bought this spinning rack of 12 spice jars off Amazon to hold my most used spices. I'm planning to buy one more the ones that I don't use as often because it makes it so much easier to grab what I need and keep moving rather than having to dig through a basket like I have been. We realized very quickly into the creation of our kitchen plans that having a spice drawer just wasn't in our reality because we needed that space for canned goods. Finding this double-tiered spinning rack was an amazing find!

I keep two oil bottles on my counter for cooking at all times, one is vegetable and the other is olive oil, and it makes it so much easier than having to fiddle with a wide mouth bottle. I have a lot more control over how much comes out and I don't risk over pouring like I used to. Highly recommend grabbing these items if you can! Our extra bottles and containers sit inside our cabinet on these Lazy Susans that I also found on Amazon. They come in a pack of 2 for a really great price and make it so much easier to go through our ingredients without having to pull everything out. All of our backstock sit high up in these clear Dollar Tree drawer organizers.

I was VERY excited to buy was this large cutting board, which I picked up from IKEA. Originally, we had planned to install butcher block countertops until we realize that they were going to be more work to keep up with then we thought we would be able to handle. We even considered installing one small butcher block countertop where my cooking station would be, but ultimately decided I wanted to do a butcher block-like cutting board instead. I found this one and IKEA and knew it would be a great piece to learn to work with!

Our old kitchen had terrible lighting before, so we went above and beyond with adding ALL the lights: under cabinet, centered semi-flush mount and over the sink pendant. We really worried that the pendant light and the semi-flush mount were going to clash with each other, but the metals really make things work together. Both are very industrial modern, and the appliances paired with the hardware on the cabinets are really just chef's kiss!

The last items we got for our kitchen were two very unexpected replacements due to accidental breakings: our oven and air fryer combo stove top and our dining table. Sadly $100 stove got destroyed in the process of us demoing the pantry but we decided to spend a bit extra to get a stove and oven combo that also came with an air fry option. We found ourselves using it a lot more than we ever expected to which makes the extra spending worth it in the long run.

Our dining table finally met its end just after we finished out kitchen reno, and luckily no one got hurt in the process! We have been talking about replacing our dining set for a long time as it was a bar height four-seater that my mom had gifted me many years ago from Big Lots. I found this perfect little set that ended up going very well with the coastal cottage theme that ended up forming in our kitchen and dining space. We got a bench, which we wanted very badly, plus four chairs. Family and friend dinners have worked out so amazingly over the past couple of months! Sadly, the table sold out hours after we purchased ours, but there are always tons of similar options available everyday on Wayfair and Overstock. Don't sleep on those sites: they really come through with unique finds!

I really hope you enjoyed seeing all the new products for our kitchen! A few other products you might see are the owl utensil holder that Mike got me for Christmas, our salt & pepper shakers purchased at our local Burlington store (brand unknown), and our toddler kitchen stool that my parents got Miles for Christmas. Let me know in the comments below any products you've been loving in your kitchen lately! We still have a few cabinets that need reorganizing and I can't wait to share that process when it happens!
