A Master Bedroom Refresh with NYTSTND

One of the bedrooms that has gone the longest without a makeover or design refresh has been our master bedroom. We've done small things over the years, but nothing large enough to make a difference. This past Spring, I made it my mission to change that! And thank you so much to NYTSTND for providing us with a charging tray that has certainly leveled up our space. I can't wait to tell you more about them!

(Disclaimer: while I did receive this product for free, all opinions are my own.)

One of Mike's biggest asks was to add more color to the room. The problem was that I still wasn't quite sure if I wanted to commit to a full room recolor. We added lights to the back of our TV and I loved being able to change the colored glow at will. So, instead, I painted a feature wall behind our bed. It made such a huge difference to the overall feel of the space and really brought a new sense of calm to it. Instead of blending in, the curtain behind our bed now started to pop out a bit, as did our nightstands and headboard.

From our original space, I kept the felt leaf garland that I made years ago and the shadow boxes I had made for us the year we moved in. The green wall really just made it feel as if all of my favorite pieces were now having the chance to shine. It made me fall in love with them all over again!

We also worked to reorganize our nightstands which have been suffering the most. They've been acting as a dumping ground for our nightly items and random other things. Our goal has been to find a way to fix that so the space doesn't look so cluttered. Special thanks again to NYTSTND for sending over their TRIO TRAY for us to keep Mike's side of the bed looking it's best.

The NYTSTND TRIO TRAY is perfect for the tech heavy user, using MagSafe charging to power up your devices and keeping your accessories laid out clean and tidy. The TRIO TRAY is especially perfect for Apple users since you can charge your watch, AirPods and iPhone all at the same time. There's a built-in stand for your watch! As Samsung users, we love being able to eliminate a few cords and drop our phones onto the charging mat at night before bed. There's also a small plug in the back of the tray to allow for charging off-brand products as well. Since we did Midnight Black wood base with the black covered tray pieces, everything blends seemlessly together for an ultra clean look on his nightstand.

NYTSTND has more than just the TRIO TRAY available. Don't have a lot of tech accessories? Consider the DUO or UNO trays instead! The DUO allows for 2 devices to charge simultaneously while still providing tray space for organization. The UNO is the perfect solo charging square to charge your phone while keeping your nightstand or desk space clean and minimal. Have more than tech accessories than we do? The QUAD TRAY is going to be your best friend. Apple enthusiasts will appreciate the ability to charge your iPad, watch, AirPods, and phone all at the same time, while still having a small tray space available for your wallet, keys, glasses and more!

The NYTSTND trays come in 5 available wood tones: Oak, Midnight Black (our favorite), White, Slate Gray, and Merlot; while the tray material is available in Black and White. The exception is the UNO, which currently is only available in Oak wood with Black, White, or Blue tray colors. Additionally, the DUO, TRIO, and QUAD charging stations come with the option to NOT have a tray. So, if you just want the ability to charge your devices without the extra space for any necessities, you're in luck! Your devices will need wireless charging capabilities to work, but you're not limited if you don't have Apple products. NYTSTND charging trays are compatible with Samsung, Google, LG and more! Check out their compatibility page to find out if your products work.

We ended up keeping our charging station lamps since we do still have and use older devices that aren't wireless compatible. I also finally found a vase that will work with my bridal bouquet that I made for our wedding! It's only taken me 6 years to do so, but better late than never! We've had a rough past year, and being able to makeover this space really helped us feel like we could breathe calmly again as we unwind for the evening.

This makeover is proof that you should never let your bedroom spaces go ignored; take a weekend (or 3) out to make your bedroom feel like a safe space. Having a space that brings you joy and is the last thing you see at the end of the day truly makes a difference when waking up the next morning and trying to find the energy to get out of bed. I hope this helps inspire you to create your bedroom 2.0 like we have.

And remember, spaces are ever-changing and ever-growing. If it's still not where you want it to be, give yourself time to get it there!
