Testing out Urban Decay's Stay Naked HydroMANIAC Foundation
Disclaimer: I was gifted this product from Influenster in exchange for a review. This review of my own opinion.
Late last month, I was gifted Urban Decay's Stay Naked HydroMANIAC tinted moisturizer by Influenster. I was so excited that it just happened to come in the day before Christmas Eve, which meant I had a brand new makeup item to use going in to the holiday weekend!
The Stay Naked HydroMANIAC is lightweight, long lasting tinted moisturizer with medium coverage that goes on like a foundation. It's infused with detoxifying kombucha filtrate and nourishing marula oil, and is made with a vegan formula. And the best part: it's made for all skin types!
I started out with a freshly cleansed faced and only applied a pore reducer before going in and applying the Urban Decay Stay Naked HydroMANIAC. When they say that it's meant to be applied with a small amount using your fingers they mean it. I used a small amount and it spread very nicely.
The coverage was super even all over. I was a little worried that the coloring wouldn't quite match as I had just recently gotten tanned from all of my morning walks, and was so happy that it worked out perfectly! I'm used the 40 Light Medium shade, which is more on the yellow side for tones. It's not quite as yellow as the box looks, so keep that in mind if you're purchasing it in store.
I'll be completely honest: I'm so not used to wearing makeup anymore that I fell asleep with it on. The long lasting power that it claims to have is definitely true, but I wouldn't expect anything less of Urban Decay.
The only thing that I was disappointed about, and it could be for a number of reasons, instead I didn't get a dewy effect on my skin. It could be in large part because of the poor reducer that I use. It's matifying because I have combination skin, but I didn't think it would effect the formula. Something to keep in mind when applying the moisturizer!
The moisturizer is thick, but doesn't feel like it when it's on your skin. It definitely wears like a foundation, but doesn't leave your skin feeling tight like they can when you wear without a moisturizer underneath.
I'm really excited to have the HydroMANIAC as part of my regular makeup routine now! It really does check all my boxes: lightweight liquid, even coverage, and is vegan. For $29, I would say it's definitely worth the price. Urban Decay is a fantastic company that is worth the investment!
