Remember how last month I stated that I was close to canceling my Birchbox? This month's box solidified my decision to stick with them. Today, I review my unboxing for my May Birchbox!

The star of the show this month was my 3-piece sample for Nexxus Color Assure Vibrancy Shampoo, Conditioner, and Pre-Wash Primer. My hair had been bleeding quite a bit still around the time May's box came in. I was at the point where I was a little uneasy about washing my hair because I didn't want to lose all the purple coloring Megan had worked so hard to achieve. The pre-wash primer did cause a little bit of bleeding onto my hands when I applied it, but I didn't up with any bleeding once I jumped in the shower and used the shampoo and conditioner. The only thing I'll say I was disappointed about was the size of the sample, and I know that's not anything Birchbox themselves can really control. I have a ridiculous amount of hair and the tiny sample they provided barely covered my hair. The end result was my ends, which have been looking dry, sad and fried for the past month, looking almost back to full health! I was very excited.

Other gems from this box were the SmartyPants All-in-One Adult Complete Gummy Vitamins + Fiber and the Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow. Not being a fan of swallowing pills and always reaching for the chewables, I was very excited to see this vitagummies. You know how most of the time these things end up tasting like the worlds cheapest, driest tasting gummy candies? These ones were actually juicy and flavorful! I was sad to have only gotten two and can really tell you if I got a pep in my step, but I didn't die so I guess that's gotta count for something positive right? The BB cream has only been used once so far and I was a little bit concerned on the tinting of the item. While it did an amazing job of evening out my skin tone and moisturizing me without making me oily, it was a shade darker than my skin can handle. I didn't really get a "glow" from it as I was expecting.

Lastly is the Supergoop!! Everyday Sunscreen, which has not been used yet at all. I'm saving it for a trip that Mike and I will be taking on July 5th to the beach for the day and testing it out there. I'm not usually a burner, but this last month's trip to Disneyland made me rethink this notion. Plus, skin safety is important and I'm the one that always forgets these sorts of things. Also not used was the $25 offer for Kate Spade. I love her items, but they're a bit out of my spending range.

Overall, I'm really quite pleased with the May Birchbox I received. Their branching out from the usual pink tissue paper has also been exciting me because I hate the color pink and love recycling tissue paper for other gifts.

You really can't go wrong with vitamins in the shape of fruits when you've been obsessed with Farm Heroes Saga.
