Creating A Neutral Entryway
My mother-in-law has a beautiful home but, like all of us, she had one space that was super untraditional and oddly structured: her entryway. With weird breaks into multiple rooms and narrow full wall that stood in the way, her options were limited to create a welcoming space that brought calmness while also being functional. Shout out to Nathan James for providing us their Mina TV cabinet!
Using a TV cabinet for an entryway is great if you're looking to play with height in a space. With so many tall pieces of decor and furniture, I wanted to really turn this space in the center most point in the house while still functioning its best as an entryway. The white paint color and rattan doors really helped us lean into the neutral, farmhouse look that was going on in the rest of the house. Using decor she already had in the home, we kept it simple by adding only a few items to dress up cabinet. A bowl was placed on top so their keys and badges would have a dedicated home. These dog lovers also now had a hideaway space to put all their dog leashes when the pups needed to be taken for a walk!
I'm so glad we thought outside of the box to see how a TV stand could double as an entryway table! This really helped the space when playing with height. The color scheme also helps make this space blend in with the surroundings rather than stand out and draw attention away from the other areas in the open space. We set out to create a calm and inviting entryway, and the space delivered!
