Cooking with Hello Fresh
Today, I'm going to be sharing how easy and convenient it is to use one of Hello Fresh's recipes while I make the chicken sausage rigatoni pasta dish. As you can see, all the ingredients come pre-packaged and separated for convenience. The recipes always start with either preheating an oven or boiling a pot of water while you wash and prepare all of the produce for the dish. Almost all of their packaging is compostable or recyclable, depending on your city's regulations.
On average, I usually use about two cookware items or a cookware in a baking sheet. You will always need a topping board and a knife, and the only ingredients they usually make sure you have on hand is salt, pepper, cooking oil, butter, and sugar.
This dish in particular only took about 20 minutes to prepare and cook. Which was great because I lost track of time but was still able to have food ready by dinner time. Most dishes that you order only give you enough food for two people on the two person plan, but we were lucky and able to set a small bowl on the side for miles to eat. The beauty about toddlers are that they only need a little bit of food from every category, so he was able to eat this along with his usual sides.
All in all, this was one of the more easy recipes to use and I probably could have done it with one pot. The longest recipe I've gotten so far has been 35 minutes, and most of that was baking time which was nice since I gave me time to clean up around the area and set the table.
I love this dish because it's definitely one of those easy meals that I could whip up any other day of the week, but I would have never thought to use rigatoni pasta or chicken sausage to switch it up. This is like this I usually default to just Italian sausage or ground beef. This is the great thing about hellofresh, is that it takes meals that you perhaps would have cooked on your own but teaches you how to elevate it just a little bit to break you out of the norm and get you thinking differently.
This recipe is definitely one for the books!
