A Halloween Home
After writing Monday's post, I realized that I never shared how we decorated our home for Halloween this year! So, I thought I share it now before I dived deep into all things Thanksgiving!
This year, I decided on a different way to decorate the wall above the mantel using 2 frames that I have that matched (a rare occurrence) and an old frame that I removed the backing and glass from. Using some MDF webs that I got from MadeofLoveCo on Etsy and painted black, I created this nice little spooky set up. I ended up keeping this set up and have SO MANY ideas on how to make this work all year round! I also bought a half dozen of these MDF webs to stick them in the top corners of my doorways because I loved them so much!
I leave my potion bottles in my kitchen/dining room for easy access when potion-brewing! Just kidding, most of these are empty and the others are just props! One day, they'll all be filled with things that match the label, but for now they'll sit pretty and empty. My sister-in-law painted this wonderful sign for me using a quote from Harry Potter and I love setting it out each year.
My most favorite decorations are pieces and elements that I saved from my wedding and engagement party. Our anniversary lands in October and we had elements from astronomy, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Halloween in our wedding design, including this faux pumpkin that acted as our guestbook!
I can't wait to build up more decor next year. My goals are to build up inventory for our bedroom and both bathrooms, but baby steps for now! Until next Halloween! The best places to grab Halloween decor are Home Goods, Michael's,
