My 10-Minute Makeup Routine
When they say having kids changes your life, they mean in every aspect. That includes how much time I have to do my makeup. I mean, I'm lucky if I can get to the eyeliner part of my routine without needing to rush out of my bathroom. For anyone who has a tendency to have almost no time to get ready and out the door (like me, even when I was single and childless), this routine is a great option for you. This was what was in my makeup bag before. It's crazy to see how much has changed!
I really wanted to focus on creating a makeup routine that was light weight, cream-based, at an affordable price, and would pair down my ready time significantly. And honestly, I think I nailed it! I can easily get all this one my face in 10 minutes or less, especially if I skip a step or 2.
What I kept from my original routine: TARTE Poreless Matifying Primer, ULTA Face Sculpting Color Stick, NYX Matte Liquid Liner, ELF Cosmetics Instant Lift Eyebrow Pencil.
What I added in: ELF Cosmetics BB Cream, ELF Cosmetics Beautifully Bare Blush (Rose Royalty), ELF Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara.
Tarte's primer has been one of my favorites since adding it over a year ago to my pregnancy makeup routine (it's vegan and recommended). I'm currently trying out ELF's BB cream foundation and liking how it sits on my skin. Some people have complained about it fading after a few hours, but I'm never out of the house long enough to experience that, so I can't help you there, haha!
This ULTA Beauty bronzer stick (no longer available, comparable) seems like the wrong shade for me going on, but it blends and spreads super well and perfectly coordinates with my skin tone. ELF's cream blush has been the only affordable one I've found so far. It's pretty light on the coloring and, unfortunately, rubs away quite easily. Definitely a con if you are someone who touches your face often out of habit. The color is very nice, though.
I finish off this look with ELF's Brown Pencil in Neutral Brown, ULTA Beauty's Maximum Lashes in Jet Black, and NYX Matte Liquid Liner in Black, as well as one of my Lipsmacker Tsum Tsum glosses. I'm a sucker for Lipsmacker, and for days when I don't want the hassle of a colored lip these are my absolute go-to's. Plus, they double as a fidget toy for little ones when you need them calm to get through check out!
What are some of your go-to make-up items for your out-the-door-fast routines? I always love finding out about new products to try out!
