What's In My Makeup Bag

My skin has started to go back to the way it was before I got pregnant, which meant that I needed a whole new bag of makeup that would work with my new old skin. The timing was perfect since I was just about out of some of my main components. I thought it would be fun today to share with you what makeup I'm using now!

I've been slowly moving towards an all-cream selection of makeup to help combat an issue with dry eyes that I have. While I've purged the majority of my collection, I have kept my lotion and primer. The only powders I have left are my blushes and my eyeshadow palettes, but I'll be getting a product soon that will help liquefy them.

For this next go-round, I'm switching things up with products from NYX and Ulta. I've heard some great reviews for their matte products and am really glad to try them out.  I'm pretty self-conscious about how oily my skin gets throughout the day, so having a matte foundation, setting powder and setting spray (not pictured) were must-haves. I rarely use my setting powder and keep on reserve for days I'm taking photographs or for special events. I've found that the NYX Total Control Foundation works super similar to Make Up For Ever's Matte Velvet Skin foundation and is a great "drug store" alternative if budget is an issue. Since my skin is still returning to normal, I didn't want to spend a lot on a foundation that might not be sticking around for long. I've used both now and highly recommend them for anyone with similar skin concerns.

For concealer, contour and highlighter, I decided to really throw caution to the wind and try some new items I've never tried before. Let me tell you, I'm SO glad I gave these items a shot. Maybelline's concealer is top notch in my book, and is the best I've ever used. I've got real dark circles under my eyes (always have) and this stuff hides it better than any other product. I've been using bronzer as my contour for years and am pretty excited to have a proper contour product to work with. I finish my look up with a little bit of lid primer, eye liner, silver liner on my waterline, brow shaping and some mascara. I don't usually wear eyeshadow, but if I do I'm reaching for my Wizardry & Witchcraft set.

What is one product in your collection that is your staple, your absolute go-to, your ride-or-die? Let me know in the comments below! I'm always on the look out for suggestions and new products to try!
