Pregnancy Skin Care Routine: One Week Later
So while it hasn't necessarily been a week for you, it's most definitely been a week for me with my new pregnancy skin care routine. One week with trying desperately to remember to do the same thing every morning and every evening. Honestly? I think I did pretty good!
It's going to be a bit hard for you to tell the difference between last week's photo and this week's photo, and that's ok. As I stated last week, I really wasn't expecting immediate results. There was a lot of damage control to be done.
But I did get some results! The breakouts have stopped and a lot of what was there has already started to clear up. Some of what you're seeing are scars at the moment because I practice terrible habits. Even my skin feels smoother than it did for the past month. And I fully attribute my back, neck and shoulders starting to clear up to my new shampoo as well, which Mike has said he's been able to notice.
The first photo is of me with my new makeup routine, which is still in progress. While I tried my hardest to get the filters on my phone to stop being a butt, I can say that it doesn't make my skin look that clear and smooth. It does do a really good job of covering everything, keeping my skin feel hydrated and not fill my pores to the brim. I've worn a bit of makeup almost every day since starting this routine and I'm still getting results. If that doesn't tell me things are working, I don't know what would.
Currently, I'm still using a powder highlighter and powder bronzer, which I'm hoping to swap out for liquids and creams. I feel like they're not aiding in my efforts and they are still products with a bunch of crap in it that I'm probably not supposed to be using. The only items I don't plan on swapping out are lip and eye products, unless I'm given a very strong reason to do so.
Would I recommend these products to another person? Yes. I know a few people already who have used products from all of these brands using various other products and they love them. With pregnancy especially limiting all of the types of things you can allow yourself to be exposed to, finding products that are healthy and come with so many bonuses (cruelty-free being one of them) it's hard not to recommend stuff that you find when they work.
I realized that I never posted links to all the products that I got, so I'm linking them here in two separate lists: skin and hair care, and makeup. As this list changes, so will my updates. There's not a lot of good and easy-to-find sources of information out there (that I was able to easily find), so I'm hoping these posts help out some of you. Pregnant or not! And while I got all of my products from my local Ulta, I've definitely seen a lot of these same items sold in stores like Sephora, Target, and Amazon.
If you have any vegan makeup products you'd like to recommend, please let me know in comments below! I'm always taking suggestions!
