Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Eyeshadow Palette Book Review

It's finally here! The long-awaited Storybook Cosmetics Wizardry and Witchcraft Eyeshadow Palette Book has arrived! Man, that was a mouth-full!

The Wizardry and Witchcraft palette arrives at your doorstep in the signature light blue box adorned with their logo. I wasn't too concerned with anything bad happening to the palette after seeing their Instagram post about them chucking a box into the air to see if it could survive USPS abuse. The box had their pretty patterned tissue paper wrapping the book. The book was super protected as well with bubble wrap.

The book is sleeved to help ensure it stays closed in its beautiful brown velvet drawstring bag. The fact that, as far as I've seen, all of their items come in drawstring bags is so magical to me. Isn't that how all potions and gold and magical items were transported around back in the day? It's a small detail to focus on for them, but that's what makes them stand out from the rest.

I'm most happy with how these colors work with my skin tone. I've already tested out all of the browns yesterday to see how they mix together and look on my eyelid, and I'm so happy with it. Storybook Cosmetics did a very good job with their first palette; these are the types of colors that will look great on anyone.

Each color is smooth to the touch, almost creamy in some shades. I'm very much a textures person and this was the best activity ever! Bewitched had the BEST texture of them all.

I tried to limit my finger swirls on the colors to 3 rotations before swiping the color onto my skin. I will say that Prophecy, Charms, and Jinx were swiped twice. Primarily because I thought that I hadn't gotten enough color onto my finger before swiping. Prophecy is pretty ghost-like as a color on me, but I like it because it makes for a really good highlight at the brow. Charms and Jinx are so close to my skin tone that I didn't realize they were on, but it looks very good on my eyelid.

If you are going for pigment, I would recommend not using their wand brushes, or any brushes, for application. However, do use them for blending purposes. I lost the pearlescent aspect of Salem on my eyelid but kept the very beautiful color, which pleased me.

My favorite colors are Potions, Merlin, Bewitched and Sorcerer. I'm very judgmental of companies when it comes to these colors, because i haven't found one that does them all correctly. You win, Storybook Cosmetics. You win. I win, too! I can't wait to rock Potions, Cauldron, Prophecy and Jinx this evening at my brother-in-law's graduation! (Their colors are green and white!)
