5 Fandom Friday: Favorite Fandom Phrases

"Always."
Snape's love for Lily in both a romantic and platonic matter is heartbreaking and kinda inspiring. He never gave up and continued to fight and protect her son if only for the memory of her and the friendship he shared with her. It goes to show you that, when you really love someone, it might not matter if they don't return your feelings or may have passed on, you'll still love them. And I think that's ok. I like to think that even though Snape may never have fallen out of love for Lily, that love for her as a friend - which they have been since children - would have always remained for him. So, for me, his response to Dumbledore had more than the surface meaning we all knew it would have.

"It does not do well to dwell on dreams and forget to live."
Famous words spoken by the late Albus Dumbledore to Harry Potter after he found Harry staring at his reflection in the mirror of Erised. I think these words are good to have as an occasional reminder to ourselves, as well. It's easy to get lost in dreams and wishes and hope, but they do us no good if we don't move on with our lives. Life is meant to be experienced and appreciated.

"Don't blink."
Nothing sparks more fear into the heart of a Whovian than hearing someone saying these words with a serious tone. In the Doctor Who universe, statues of Angels to us are really an alien race referred to as the Weeping Angels. No one knows where they're from or when they came to existence, but they're here and they're dangerous. The only way to stop them is to trick them into staring at themselves. Very Medusa level stuff.

"Fantastic!"
It's ok, I heard Eccleston's voice in my heard when I wrote it so you can't be blamed for reading it in his voice. Chris Eccleston, who played the 9th Doctor on Doctor Who, helped coin exclaiming this phrase where many of us would say "awesome" or "cool" or "neat." I can't help but wear a big grin on my face like he does whenever I say it.

"Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked."
BECAUSE NO AVATAR OR KORRA FAN WILL EVER NOT FIND THIS FUNNY. Seriously. Have you seen the show? Any thing that was pretty or nice or wonderful became horrible and every story about how their demise came out ends with the words: then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Want a good laugh? Google search that ish.
