My E3 2015 Wish List
I don't know if you guys kept up with what happened at this year's E3, but it definitely left me wide-eyed and drooly-faced. I tried throwing my paycheck at my computer screen in hopes that it would take it and the games and things that I wanted would come back at me. This was not the case. In the meantime, I've put together my E3 wish list for the upcoming games of the next year!
Kingdom Hearts 3
IT'S COMING! FINALLY! After years of waiting and wishing and speculation, we are finally getting some rumored estimated release time frames of Winter 2015. If the push dates for KH2 are any indication of how the release of 3 will be, I suspect we can have it in our hands around Summer 2016. So, we're either getting the game for Christmas, tax return time, or my birthday. I'm good with any of those options, really. I just want the damn game. Just give it to me, Square Enix. Now. For now, I pass the time with replaying 1 and 2 as remixes on the PS3. I can't wait to see all the new worlds, how KH2's ending scene will come into play, and whether or not we'll finally be able to fight side by side with King Mickey.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
The Tomb Raider reboot is one of the best things that could have happened for Lara Croft and was the most beautifully designed games I've ever played in my life. I'm really excited for the upcoming sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, where we will get to see her fall into her legacy. The thing I love the most about the reboot is the fact that we get to see Lara become the adventurous bad ass we grew to love when the game originally came out on the original Playstation. Even in the trailer you can see her as a more confident being in the actions she takes and the way she carries herself. The developers and the designers have done an amazing job so far and I can't wait to get my greedy little paws on this one! We'll all be able to enjoy Lara's next adventure this year on November 10.
Yoshi's Woolly World
This game is going to end up being the reason I get a Wii U. LOOK HOW FREAKING CUTE IT IS! Even his Amiibo is a yarn little plushy! During E3, they did an interview with the adorable little lady responsible for Yooshi's Woolly World's existence. I wanted to stick her and her little crocheted Yooshis in my pocket and take them with me everywhere I go. It's too cute, it's too much. I need all of the cuteness. If you already own a Wii U (lucky), then you can run out to the stores now and pick up your copy of this adorable game. In the meantime, I'm going to look up patterns and see if I can make this little guy for myself.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer
If you're a huge fan of the home decorating aspect of the Animal Crossing series, Happy Home Designer is the game for you. Because being a major and paying off your forced house loans wasn't enough stress on your psyche enough, right? In the next installment of the series, you will be in charge of how the members of your community will decorate their homes based off their requests based off Amiibo cards that you can get and collect. This is an important aspect of the game, so older gen 3DS owners like me will have to lose out until we upgrade. Maybe I'll be able to convince my dad to let me borrow his when it comes out! Yay gaming parents! ACHHD is set for launch on September 25th release in the States. If you're awesome and live in Japan, you'll get it at the end of this month!
Star Wars: Battlefield
Mike's heavy enthusiasm over this game has officially rubbed off on me. Knowing that I can ride a freakin' AT-AT in game helped a bit with that, too. Though my FPS game isn't strong, I'm totally willing to train myself between now and the November 17 release date to ensure I can keep up with the big kids. More so, I'm excited to see what the future DLC will look like, what planets we'll get to fight on, and if we get a chance to have space battles!
Star Wars: The Old Republic - Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion
OHMERHGAWD IT'S A SWTOR EXPANSION! *insert gif of cabbage man from Avater: The Last Airbender here* This game is my jam, and I'm so excited for this expansion. First off: these boys are too hot to trot, I don't care who you are. Second of all, THAT TRAILER THO. I'm pretty sure my level of excitement for this expansion is on par with my excitement for the KH3 release. Knights of the Fallen Empire will be free to all subscribers on October 27. If you've suspended your account or have been sitting on the idea of becoming a subscriber, I highly recommend making your move now. You'll get early access with in-game downloads. I hear there's a new ride in our futures! *squeals* The one catch to this expansion is that you must be a level 60 character to pass Go. They are offering an option to start a level 60 character so you can jump full speed ahead into it, but I advise against it. The game is great and the storylines are awesome. Take the time to enjoy the game. You get XP boasts more often than you think and it's pretty easy to level up. Even more so with a subscription.
Man, two games AND a new set of movies? It's a great time for the fandom.
LEGO Dimensions
LEGO is joining Disney, Nintendo and Activision in the toy-based multi-platform gaming... game. ONLY IT'S LEGO! The LEGO game franchise is crazy good, so I'm glad they'll be taking even more of my money come September 27. The starter pack comes with the game (available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and the WiiU), the portal platform, one vehicle (Batmobile, because duh), and reconnects you with our heroes from The LEGO Movie Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle. What's even better is that I'm pretty sure you have to build most of the portal before you get to start, which I love. Even the vehicles can be changed and/or upgraded for crazier game-play experiences. OH AND DID I MENTION THERE WILL BE A DOCTOR WHO EXPANSION?! BECAUSE THERE IS. It's only a matter of time before we get Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, if we don't already have them and I just don't know about it yet.
So, what games are you excited to get for Christmas or sooner this year? Any of you going to wait it out for Black Friday, Cyber Monday or next year's Prime Day to get the games cheaper? Who's holding out on their purchases until after all the Day One bugs have been sorted out? I honestly can't decide, myself. Might wait on the Wii U for one of our retail sale holidays.
