Geek Chic: A Doctor a day keeps the Weeping Angels at bay
We're finally getting a peek at fall here, so of course I'd bust out my Doctor Who character inspired outfit. This particular outfit takes on the theme of time with a little bit of Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor's look. I've been waiting all summer to get this baby on. I managed to find the world's coolest set of suspenders at my local Goodwill store that had clocks all over it. The way the design of the clocks are almost looks a little like Gallifreyan (the written language of the Time Lords).
The thing I love about the outfits the Doctor wears is the simplicity of the outfit. He's always got such a classy, effortless look to him that is something to be admired. It's also pretty neat when you see the fashion trends of one Doctor blend into that of another's. Take David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor for example; he carried on Peter Davison's glasses during his reign as the Tenth Doctor for the "smart look," as he called it. The only Doctor featured who didn't sport a button-up shirt was Christopher Eccleston, the Ninth Doctor. I give him a break only because he was dealing with the death of his people. That's enough of a reason for anyone to go casual with leather, I suppose. I'm holding out hope that the Doctor is real and is on his way to pick me and travel the stars with me. Until then, I shall watch out for suspicious mannequins, statues of angels, and blue Police Boxes.
Catch Doctor Who on BBC America returning this November, or watch the series as a whole on Netflix.
