Nerd Cave: Disneyland-Inspired Nursery

Disneyland Inspired Nursery

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this before, but I married into a family of Disney-diehards, and I love it.

My two sister-in-laws, Megan & Melissa, put their heads together to create a beautiful Disneyland-inspired nursery for little baby Avery. When they first told me of this plan, I was so stoked to see the end results. After finally seeing it in person at Megan's baby shower 2 weekends ago, I just had to ask her to let me post about this adorable little room! Its so subtle and so sweet, with plently of room left to add all the wonderful gifts she got that day, including an adorable Belle dress and Minnie Mouse bathing suite!

The theme is subtle but it's in every spot you look around the room, which is great! You're not overwhelmed by all things from the moment you enter the room, but it's just as much as part of it as it is their lives. Avery's crib has an adorable white and green Tinkerbell pillow, an homage to one of Mama Megan's beloved characters! Auntie Melissa handmade this beautiful floral mobile from felt to help draw in Megan's favorite princess, Belle, using this diy from The Pretty Blog. I think it came out fantastic! It's so light and airy in the room. It's really amazing how different mediums and different textures can change how different aspects of a room can feel.

Megan added in the gold circular shelf to display a few of Avery's shoes and first mouse ears. It wonderfully breaks up all the hard edges used in the room and goes perfectly with all of the little gold circles used on the wall. Melissa re-purposed all of the picture frames used during the wedding 2 years ago for the artwork, and filled them scrapbook paper and stickers to make the artwork! How amazing is that?! That castle looks SO amazing in person, too.

Avery's name banner reminds me SO much of Fantasyland! They got all the parts from Hobby Lobby and strung them together themselves. The dresser was a DIY project using an old family dresser that was repainted and given new drawer pulls. It will perfectly hold all of Avery's everyday needs, and is adorned with the cutest floral crown and 3D photo of her! And who could forget sweet Dopey sitting patiently awaiting her arrival with the rest of us!

These girls worked very hard on this Disneyland-inspired nursery, and every ounce of that effort has paid off. There's still a few things the family is doing to make sure it's as perfect as possible for her arrival, but it already looks amazing. I can't wait to see little Princess Avery in her new castle!

Isn't so adorable?! And this was the WIP version of the nursery! My sister-in-laws did a wonderful job. I'm stealing some of these ideas for my own home for sure!

    And welcome aboard!
