Crepes anyone?

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of stopping by Midtown Creperie & Cafe for brunch. The sun was bright and warm, even though I didn't get to feel it from my seat under the awning. It had been a while since I had a crepe. Most places I've gone to, both local and chain restaurants, seem to make theirs a bit funny to me. They always wanted to stuff it with cream cheese or make them smaller than necessary, and never allow me the option of not having it. I'm a bit picky when it comes to my food. There will be times when I'm down to have something different, but don't mess with my all-time favorites.
Midtown Creperie did not disappoint.
The adorable cafe opened their doors roughly 3 years ago on The Miracle Mile in Stockton, CA.Open for brunch and dinner, Midtown Creperie has such a mouth-watery variety of options on their menus from The Big Easy to their famous Gelato. Jeff and I happened to see them a few days prior when stopping into our pub for a drink after parking in front of the cafe. They're currently expanding their location, but the construction isn't in your face and doesn't distract from the experience.

The crepe I ordered was their Soc Au Lait Crepe with strawberries and bananas. Man oh man. Each bite was loaded with Nutella and fruit and whipped cream goodness. The ground beneath me could have exploded at that moment and I doubt I would have noticed. Midtown Creperie is currently giving their customers complimentary benyas for Mardis Gras month, which was a pretty sweet deal. I didn't quite hear my waitress (who was the sweetest lady ever) when she originally explained this, so I thought they just came standard with the crepe. I heard her tell the customer behind me and thought that the gesture was really neat. Though I had never had a freshly baked benya before, there's tasted absolutely delicious! My only wish was that I had remembered to take photos BEFORE I had dove into them. Oh well, at least I got a picture of the crepe one bite into it

I can't wait to go back with Jeff soon. I know he'd dig the crepes (we're both mad about crepes).
